Description: Another trouble free multiplex plant that is very hardy and versatile. Chinese goddess is a striking bamboo with very small leaves on weeping slender culms. This bamboo makes a wonderful container plant. This bamboo has very fine arching culms up to .5 inch in diameter. Turns golden at maturity in full sun. Makes a great accent to a small yard or as a beautiful low screen.
Native Habitat: Southern China and Taiwan.
Size: Can grow to 12 - 15 feet. Culms are usually about 1/2 inch in diameter.
Cold hardiness: Root-hardy to about 0 degrees F. Leaves start to drop at about 15 degrees F and culms are killed to the ground if temperatures go much below 10 degrees F. Best adapted to Zone 8.
Culture: Plant in full sun or light shade.
Landscape use: This bamboo makes a wonderful container plant and is a very attractive individual specimen or screen.
Other notes: Widely planted in the warmer parts of Zone 8 and throughout Florida.
