There is only one thing that can possibly account for the vast number of cancer deaths in America (over 5 million in just the past decade alone): TRUST.

All those who died from this agonizing modern plague had one major thing in common. They all had misplaced trust in an untrustworthy system.

Like gamblers addicted to the lights, sounds and false hope of something for nothing — with numbed minds and hearts, hopefully, endlessly feeding coins to a machine and mindlessly tugging on a handle repeatedly — most people are unaware of the very real dangers of their “civilized” world.

As a child you were probably told not to trust strangers, especially those offering you something like a toy or candy to entice you to go along with them.

As an adult, you might have figured out to beware the promises of a political candidate from “the other” party, but you also followed the promises of their apparent opposite whose promises seem so different and alluring to you, yet whose actual actions are just a clone of their alleged “opponent” (just like a rigged wrestling match).

You were never warned to beware of the two-legged snakes lurking in the tall grasses of high-rise office buildings, labeled government, corporation, or those sunning themselves on the rocks of religious, educational, and particularly medical institutions.

Which is only true because you were never taught or told what to expect, why some things are actually bad, compared to others, why some choices that seem good and right for the moment can go so horribly wrong, while others which appear so undesirable right now alone can reward you in future for choosing and sticking with them diligently.

There are effects, consequences, for every cause or choice you make. Some are good, but most of those that seem right to the majority often turn out to be so bad, you later wonder what everybody was thinking (or not thinking) for things to have gone so terribly wrong!

Misdirected idealism, like uninformed faith or tragic misplaced trust, is nothing better than belief in fictional super heroes or religious idols that cannot walk, hear or speak, like believing a man really can fly and then the horror of learning first hand the awful truth.

In just such ways are so many led to the brink of disaster, and over the precipice!

That cliff of dashed hopes and mistaken trust, for those who stumble toward it unaware their every step leads them closer to inevitable doom, is cancer.

Nearby are the rapids, shoals and falls of heart disease, with the parched deserts of diabetes, the overgrown, thorny forests of obesity, and the slow, painful death tar pits of Alzheimer’s — among other similar health crises — in every other direction.

Successfully navigating past these deadly obstacles takes diligence, persistence, and a good map and guide, along with plenty of provisions on hand.

Chief among these is a good education, to feed your mind the wisdom and experiences of those who have risked the journey before you…

And, to paraphrase Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), it’s best not to let your schooling interfere with your education.

Only trouble is, there are so many false maps, greedy guides, and bogus books and teachers clamoring about and loudly hawking their wares, that you could understandably feel very confused and reticent to trust the few genuine articles and their guardians available to you.

Trust in the wrong paradigm (example, pattern) or choice, and you will wind up where so many others have found themselves — bewildered over how you came to such an inglorious impasse — fighting for your life in a desperate, seemingly hopeless, doomed struggle against all odds.

Trust correctly, however, and you can avoid all that, without ever having to know personally what you missed, although you may very well see and feel the pain of others you care for falling victim to such bad choices.

Most will doubtless think you odd, if not criminal, for not following their abbreviated and painful path in life.

So many trust government to protect them from these evils, little suspecting they are really putting their faith in other people no different from themselves, who are just as subject to being deceived and making all the wrong choices in life.

Start with the idea that a government job is like a guaranteed hedge from the harsh realities of the real competitive world, without any clue where all the money to run the whole shebang comes from (or where most of it goes to), or how to truly fix what’s broke in the economy.

Think of all the lost experience and guidance, from the attrition caused by cancer and other major diseases, for a major clue.

Trust is often misplaced and misguided by misinformed mentors with miscreant motives, seeking something for nothing or — at the very least — something better, without the bother of doing anything different than what everyone else is doing.

Cancer is a stone of stumbling littering the landscape of modern society, over which those who wear the blindfolds of false faith often fall to their hurt and destruction every day.

How many become victims to cancer through blind faith and toady trust in the false saviors of modern medicine? According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control, the total is more than 1,506 fatalities due to cancer every single day…

That’s more than 63 deaths caused by cancer every hour, which is more than one every minute! To put this into perspective, that’s the equivalent of one 9-11 catastrophe (3,000 dead) every other day.

Add in heart disease, and that’s more than one 9-11 every single day, or nearly as many each year as have died in every war (declared or not) in the entire history of the United States to date (1,315,998 through June 2010; according to militaryfactory.com/american_war_deaths.asp)!

By the tenth anniversary of 9-11-01 America will have suffered the equal of 3,650 Pentagon and World Trade Center disasters — or ten times the number of deaths attributed to all American conflicts dating back before the Revolutionary War — just from cancer and heart disease fatalities alone.

Add to these figures those for every other form of disease-related fatalities, and you’ve only just begun to see the grim picture being painted on the grisly canvas of recent human experience.

Factoring in all deaths related to diseases of all kinds (1,804,987 in 2006, the most recent year for which these stats are available), better than 10% more Americans are dropping dead every single day from illnesses alone than have died in every war in American history to date!

That’s where mistaken faith in medicine has led America just over the past century.

Earlier generations would have seen this for the horrific plague and terroristic evil it actually is.

That’s where false belief can lead you, if you let it, and that’s precisely why such thievish, thankless misplaced trust is, without exception, the #1 cause of cancer fatalities today.

Different women experience menopause in different ways. While there are some experiences that everyone can expect to have, for most, menopause is a lonely journey. With such a wide array of potential symptoms, from depression to weight gain to general feelings of unease, it’s hard to create a single form of medication that’s applicable to every woman.

But there is one solution: Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Called BHRT for short, it won’t cure menopause, or even put it off, but it will alleviate those unpleasant symptoms. And though it’s been around for almost two decades, BHRT only recently gained popularity as a reliable and healthy way to combat the natural effects of aging.

Before BHRT prescriptions came along, doctors would prescribe synthetic hormones, which were often designed by pharmaceutical companies. But because these synthetics are foreign to the human body, they carried unwanted side effects with them. What’s more, the synthetics couldn’t be fine-tuned to the body chemistries of individual patients, so there was no guarantee that a given symptom would be addressed.

Unlike synthetic hormones, bio-identical hormones are derived from natural sources, and thus match the formula of those hormones already in your body. BHRT prescriptions are designed to mimic your body chemistry perfectly, which makes the entire menopause experience — from beginning to post-menopause — easier on your body and mind. Since every woman’s body chemistry is different, every BHRT prescription is different. A good compounding pharmacist can work with you and your health care provider to determine the best course of action for you.

So how can you decide whether a bio-identical hormone replacement therapy prescription is for you?

Learn the ropes. All women experience menopause in different ways, but there are some common symptoms that can tip you off that it might be your time. Has it been more than two or three months since your last period? (As a corollary to this question: Are you sure you’re not pregnant?) Do you seem to be gaining weight despite eating right and exercising? Are you having trouble sleeping?

Know your symptoms and medical history. Compile a list of your symptoms to bring to your doctor. Figure out your most pressing concerns, and what kind of changes you’d like to see. Your doctor may ask you why you’re pursuing a BHRT prescription — be prepared to answer her.

Talk to your doctor. If you’re between doctors, this may be the perfect time to find one who’s familiar with BHRT. Since it’s still somewhat new, there may be doctor out there who aren’t well-schooled in it, or who don’t support it.

Learn as much as possible. Read more than just this article. Google is your friend here, and so is your doctor. Before making the final leap, learn everything you can about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

Assessing the Psychological Aspect of Performing Plastic Surgery on Children

Children are basically beautiful creatures. They are warm and honest and pure and delightful. A parent can find themselves in extreme distress when considering whether cosmetic surgery is an appropriate method of care for their child.

Cosmetic surgery is associated with vanity and society’s obsession with youth and beauty and weight. Cosmetic surgery isn’t typically given its due consideration for fixing disfigurements and malformations. When a parent discusses the prospect of cosmetic surgery, they are often regarded as vain and indignant individuals subjecting their child to a painful procedure for their own pursuit of perfection.

This is not necessarily the case. While there are parents out there who will put their children under the knife to give their child a better nose or perfect their features, most parents only consider cosmetic surgery for children under extreme circumstances.

Sometimes the psychological aspects of not undergoing a corrective procedure can be harmful to the child’s self esteem. Conditions such as cleft palate or infant skull reconstruction are conditions that will most likely inhibit the child for the rest of their lives. However there are conditions that are marginally obtrusive and the child may or may not benefit from cosmetic surgery for children. Otoplasty, also known as ear pinning, may or not be a quality decision regarding a child’s well being
.

Some people consider children with large ears that protrude out from the head to be particularly cute. Other children, however consider these children to be “Dumbo” or “Mickey Mouse.” A child with protruding ears are good candidates for cosmetic surgery for children, but one has to consider the consequences of under going the treatment as well as refusing to undergo the treatment.

Understanding Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a procedure which basically pins the ears back closer to the head. Under a local anesthesia with some sedation, an incision is made along the back of the ear near the base where it meets the head. The cartilage is then folded over to shorten the distance between then end of the ear and the head, and then sewn together permanently and dressed to protect against infection. The entire process takes about two or three hours and healing time is relatively mild in comparison to other procedures.

When healing occurs, the ears will be permanently closer to the head and they will lose their “sticking out” appearance. Otoplasty can not be done until around the age of five or six which is when the ear reaches full size. A child undergoing otoplasty at that age will have enough understanding that explanative information will need to be given to keep the child comfortable and understanding what is happening. While some children desperately want their ears to look like everyone else’s the thought of someone “cutting their ears off” can be traumatic.

Deciding What is Best for Your Child

Deciding to go through with a procedure like an otoplasty can have long term effects, both positive and negative, for your child. The age of the child creates a significant factor. At two or three years old the child could be told that they were going to get their ears “fixed” and there wouldn’t be quite the same complications or implications as there are on an older child. At six years old, telling a child they are getting their ears “fixed” implies that there is something wrong with them.

Are you saving them from a lifetime of humiliation and ridicule or are you sending the message that if there’s something different about you that you shouldn’t accept it and you should fix it, even if it requires money and pain? Sometimes that answer can only be determined by the child themselves and how they feel about their ears. Sometimes that answer lies within how a parent chooses to explain the situation and how they are going to go about resolving it.

Often enlisting the help of a psychiatric specialist or two can assist a parent in determining what is really in the child’s best interest, but that is impossible to do without the child’s input. A child who is already the brunt of jokes may outwardly detest their ears because everyone else does. They were taught to hate them. Unfortunately because children have a habit of being devoid of rational thinking on occasion, “fixing” the ears may not change how they feel about them. They were already taught to hate them.

A young child may have a difficult time adjusting to their new look. Without logical thinking, they may not realize that changing an outside body part does not change who you are on the inside. They may not “see” themselves any longer and they may find that quite traumatic and disruptive to development. Other children may simply respond to everyone else’s response and love their new ears and still feel exactly like themselves. Their reaction is dependent upon their personality and the adults in their life.

Plastic surgery for children without severe oddities that cause ridicule or actual disfigurements are not considered good candidates for cosmetic surgery. Children who undergo cosmetic surgery for issues like having their father’s nose which displeases a divorced mother tend to suffer deep emotional trauma and self esteem issues. Cosmetic surgery for children should only be considered with the child’s consent.

Cosmetic Surgery for Older Children

There are some adolescents who feel that cosmetic surgery is something they could benefit from. This can be a difficult decision for parents. Teenagers tend to change so quickly and over time their self image may actually improve. However, turning to cosmetic surgery in order to create the illusion of perfection in their lives by attempting to attain perfection in their body is dangerous, and most surgeons will not consider a cosmetic procedure on a teenager who is not socially and emotionally well adjusted. In fact all adolescents can expect to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine the child has an appropriate state of mind.

Again a parent of a teenager wanting to have cosmetic surgery will have to struggle with the lesson they may teach their child. There is value in learning to love oneself exactly as is. Yet if a surgical procedure can alleviate a source a great anxiety and enhance the self esteem is that really a bad thing?

Cosmetic Surgery on Athletes

It has become acceptable these days to perform cosmetic surgery on athletes, particularly those whose body shape detracts from the desired norm. Figure skater, gymnasts, dancers, and performers have undergone cosmetic surgery prior to the age of eighteen, mostly to remove any signs of natural development such as breasts. In these sports, breasts are considered a detraction and many parents are having their daughters’ breasts basically removed.

There are several child advocacy groups that have tried to remove children from their parents’ care for undergoing this procedure, although none of them have been successful. It is not yet known what the effects of this process will likely cause, but professional speculation states that the results will not be positive. Many teens give up the majority of their normal adolescent experience for their sport. Some may consider just another run of the mill sacrifice.

Childhood Benefits

Children with significant disfigurements are naturally saved from a lifetime of poor self esteem and ridicule when they undergo cosmetic surgery for children. Those with mild disfigurements have been shown to do well after the procedure has been completed and an appropriate adjustment period has passed. Children tend to be resilient beings and can typically bounce back from the changes of cosmetic surgery, but great care should be taken in the entire process to alleviate fear and teach valuable lessons along the way.

While we don’t want to teach our children it is necessary to change in order to fit in, it can be beneficial to protect them if possible. Every parent wants their child to have as close to a normal life as possible. Naturally this decision can cause great anguish to a parent. Even after consulting numerous psychologists and doctors there can be doubt and hesitation in knowing what is right for any particular child. The best way to begin to understand what is right is to be as educated as possible about cosmetic surgery and all it has to offer and all of its drawbacks.

The more a person understands the cosmetic surgery industry the more they can understand what to expect and what expectations are just too high. Finding adequate resources on the internet can be a challenge all it own, and finding a resource that is not interested in anything other than educating the public and offering a realistic forum for such issues.

If you are interested in finding out more information on this or any other form of plastic surgery, take a moment and stop by lifeplasticsurgery to find unbiased reporting and fair representation of the facts and procedures. This is not a decision to make alone, and having a community of people looking for their own right answers can make a huge impact.

Article by Pankaj Gupta

The legality of gambling is hugely dependant on the state in which the gambling is being organised. The law differs from one state to another and as a result the activity which is illegal in one state can be very easily legal in another. When it comes to online gambling, it becomes very difficult to judge the legality. The scope of Internet is so huge that no filtering mechanism stands enough for it. Individual state, country or government cannot have control over the world wide web. But still it is very important to know whether the game you are playing is legal or not.

Absence of precedent makes it very hard to determine whether online gambling is legal or illegal. Gambling by phone has been banned by the Wire Act, which puts some restriction on the scope of gambling. But it does not mention any prohibition over gambling over Internet. A legislation in this regard is not enough to render the act of gambling to be illegal. There need to be a proper case where a person has been charged of the crime of gambling, prosecuted and subsequently convicted of the crime. As no such incident has happened yet, no legal precedent has been yet established.

In case you want a yes no answer to the question regarding illegality of gambling, you are looking at a distant answer. The law is not at all objective and brief in this matter. While you are playing poker online you should know that there are no laws which has made playing online poker illegal. Therefore you cannot be charged of any crime as there is no law under which you can be prosecuted.

Also Internet is such a huge area that it is practically impossible to get hold of online gambling offender as no track of their physical identity can be found the maximum times. There are millions of player who are playing this game every second. One can easily imagine the quantity of litigation that will be invited if the state starts prosecuting for gambling.

It is a great source of revenue and no state would like to hamper that. To be on the safer side, you should always keep yourself updated in these matters so that in case any law is passed on a given date, it will not take you off guard. People who are too tensed in these matters, should avoid gambling all together.

Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases in today’s world. It includes a host of different types, where the cells divide abnormally to form lumps or tumours. Some tumours are benign and some are malignant. This is a process wherein if too many new cells are created they form a tumour, cancerous if malignant but not otherwise. The benign tumours do not cause cancer but the malignant ones affect other tissues and surrounding organs.

According to research, 2 in 4 persons may end up having cancer in their life-time. It is uncommon

Causes of cancer are generally a disruption in the orderly path of cell growth to make the cells continue to grow and divide in an uncontrollable manner.

Some of the cancers are prostrate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, bladder cancer etc. Most patients with cancers can be cured and even if not totally cured, it can be kept under control for years and months and can be treated.

Breast Cancer among all other cancers is increasingly growing among the masses. This includes both male and female breast cancer patients. The percentage of males who suffer from male breast cancer as par with women is 1.2%.Compared to 41000 women, around 500 men die in the US each year due to breast cancer which accounts for some 1% of all cancer related deaths. When there is an excess of cells and it results in malignant tumours which can spread to nearby tissues and organs.Cancer of the breast for male is called adenocarcinomas for they are created in ducts and lobules.

Symptoms of Breast cancer in both men and women are:

Lumps Swelling Skin changes Painless lump Abnormality Very tender nipple Swelling or redness Puckering or dimpling or indenting of skin. Fluid discharges from nipple Nipple turns inwards.

These are a few risk factors which strongly increase the chances of breast cancer in men as well as women:

Radiation exposure – Those men or women who has undergone some kind of treatment or radiation therapy and on their chest area are prone to breast cancer

The genetic connection – Women who have a family history of breast cancer are highly susceptible to the same and more so if it is a first degree or second degree relations like a sister or mother. Same applies for men who have women relatives with B.cancer.

Age factor- Women and men of older age tend to have breast cancer more than others. There are 80% chances of a woman over 50 to get cancer compared to 5% chance of younger women.

History of breast cancer – If a woman or man has already suffered breast cancer in one breast; he or she has more possibility of developing cancer.

Hyperestrogenism- Sometimes some men have a condition where they have abnormally high amounts of estrogen, the female hormone. The breasts become enlarged and such conditions make the men prone to cancer.

Cancer treatment is administered through various methods like radiotherapy, surgery, active surveillance, Chemotherapy, and hormonal therapy. In case of any abnormal growth, a doctor should be consulted since diagnosis is the first step to successfully cure cancer. An examination of the abnormality should be done and then it would be diagnosed using low-yield X-ray images or mammograms followed by CAT or MRI as also enzyme and blood test and biopsy before deciding on chemotherapy or surgical removal.

Generally, after a cancer treatment, a patient has to take care and be cautious about the food intake. They should eat more grain products, vegetables and fruits, a variety of food, to include garlic and low alcohol, caffeine and salt intake in diet and an increase in physical activity. After the treatment, the patient experiences various side effects and this range from nausea to fatigue and constipation to vomiting.

All kinds of cancer, including breast cancer can be prevented if a person stops smoking and drinking which will notably decrease chances of cancer of the lung, liver and throat. A healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetables along with proper protection from strong sunlight will also help prevent cancer. Regular screening and self-examination also helps keep the abnormalities in check.

What problems are shared by many people with bad breath? Throat related issues, such as post nasal drip, sinus problems, and tonsil complications are a huge contributor to bad breath. I myself have suffered from chronic bad breath, and it didn’t go away until I started focusing on the problems I felt in my throat, such as my post nasal drip. In this article I’m going to tell you why these throat issues contribute to bad breath, and I’ll also tell you about a remedy that you’re going to want to get your hands on.

If your bad breath is anything like mine was, then one of the biggest indicators that you have it is that constant mucus in your throat, or the sour or metallic taste on the back of your tongue. It is no doubt an embarrassing problem, and I cannot downplay that. But I just want to let you know that you are not alone.

Unfortunately, many dentists do not recognize bad breath as a serious or persistent problem, and therefore do not devote too much time to helping people who have bad breath. It’s unfortunate that you have to resort to doing your own research, but the important thing is that I give you an understanding of how that feeling in your throat and bad breath are linked to each other.

Virtually all cases of bad breath are caused by a certain sulfur producing bacteria that make their home in your mouth (especially in your throat and on your tongue). These bacteria are perfectly normal, as they actually help us break down the foods that we eat. It is when they break down our mucous or phlegm that bad breath is created, through the extraction of sulfur from the proteins found in our mucous (especially in the case of post nasal drip).

If you want to get rid of the bad breath caused by the problems in your throat, then you must use a method to neutralize the sulfur that this bacteria creates if you want to have a fresh breath that lasts all day (without having to brush your teeth many times a day, gargle mouth-drying mouthwash, or chew gum throughout your life).

Individuals that are dealing with an eating disorder will need certain things in order to get healthy and learn positive coping skills related to dealing with life situations. In order for the person to gain the knowledge and skills that he or she needs, they will need to take part in some type of treatment program and they will also need to have support from their family and friends. The following information will explore some different types of treatment that may be effective for eating disorders.

One of the key components of treatment for many individuals suffering from an eating disorder is psychotherapy. This is often needed in order to teach the person to express their feelings appropriately through communication. It can also help them learn to improve their self-esteem along with practicing positive coping skills that will help them decrease stress in the future.

Another very important piece is nutritional education. The person will need to work with a dietitian in order to learn healthy eating styles. This will help ensure that he or she is getting all of the vitamins and minerals that they need in order to be healthy. Learning to consume healthy meals can help a person feel better about themselves as they work through their psychological and mental issues during therapy.

Some people may get a lot of support by attending support groups. These are great because they are not run by professionals. Rather, they are conducted by individuals that have suffered with, or are suffering with, an eating disorder. This is a safe place for people to come and express their fears, concerns, and experiences while gaining advice from others that have the same experiences. The support group can often become a very safe place for people to express themselves.

Finally, some people may need to be treated at an inpatient facility or in a hospital. This is generally reserved for individuals that need to have medical attention in order to help monitor severe behaviors or to even monitor weight gain and loss. Men and women that have suffered from an eating disorder to the point that he or she is extremely malnourished or who is suicidal may be best for this type of treatment. Another time that this may be needed is if the person is actually getting worse with other types of treatment and the treatments seem to be completely ineffective.

The important thing to remember with treatments for eating disorders is that one type of treatment is not best for everyone. This always needs to be taken into consideration when a treatment option is being selected. Friends and family members need to remember that eating disorders are often very complex. It will take a lot of work and effort in order to battle the disorder with success. Patience is often needed in order to help see a person through it because they will be addressing a lot of serious issues. They will also be learning new skills that will take time to practice in order for them to be effective.

Insomnia is the failure to obtain an adequate amount or quality of sleep. The difficulty can be in falling asleep, remaining asleep, or both. Persons with insomnia do not feel refreshed when they wake up. Insomnia is a widespread symptom that affects millions of people, and may be caused by many conditions, diseases, or circumstances.

People who are divorced, widowed, or separated are more likely to have the problem than those who are married, and it is more frequently reported by those with lower socioeconomic status. Short-term, or transient, insomnia is a common occurrence and usually lasts only a few days. Chronic, orlong-term insomnia lasts more than three weeks and increases the risk for injuries in the home, the workplace, and while driving because of daytime sleepiness and loss of concentration. Chronic insomnia can also lead to mood disorders like depression.

Herbal Supplements To Alleviate Insomnia

Here are some examples of herbs that can aid insomniacs in getting much-needed sleep.

California Poppy

Perennial herb and the state flower of California. It has been used since the Renaissance to reduce stress and anxiety and promote sleep.

Avena Sativa

Avena Sativa is the scientific name for common field oats widely cultivated in generally temperate areas and sold as oatmeal and rolled oats. It’s a woody vine and almost all plant parts have medicinal value.

Celery Seed

Celery seed is used as a herbal remedy to treat nervousness, insomnia and anxiety. It contains vitamins A, C and B-complex. The stalks of the celery plant are a delicious and healthful food, however it’s the seeds that have the medicinal properties, This is the common garden vegetable sold in stores.

Chamomile

Chamomile is also known as camomile and ground apple. Its flowers are used as a tranquilizer. This is one of the world’s best selling herbal remedies, probably because of the many people who suffer from anxiety, stress and insomnia.

Motherwort

This herb is effective in easing anxiety and promotes sleep. Motherwort is an old world plant valued for treating of anxiety and tension.
